An EPC (energy performance certificate) gives a property an energy efficiency rating from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient), valid for 10 years. Since 2008 it has been a legal requirement to have an EPC whether you are selling or letting a property out. When letting, currently by law it must have an EPC rating of “E” or above.
